Iron Supplementation

The reference nutrient intake (RNI) for iron is around 14mg for a woman aged 19-50 and around 8mg/day for a man of the same age range. This is higher than your body actually needs as typically iron from most dietary sources has a low rate of absorption at 5%-15%.

If you are not getting enough iron from your diet, your doctor or health care practitioner may advise you to supplement your diet with iron.

Some people can experience unpleasant side effects when taking iron supplements, including:
  • constipation
  • stomach irritation
  • headaches
Spatone has been scientifically shown to have a higher absorption (an average of 40%) than conventional iron supplements. Since Spatone is easily absorbed, you only need a small quantity to get your entire Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) of absorbed iron.

Spatone liquid iron supplement has been scientifically shown to deliver a more absorbable form of iron which means you should experience fewer of the unpleasant side effects.
