Exercise

Maintaining healthy skin is easier if you have an overall healthy lifestyle, of which a good exercise routine is a must. Exercise increases the blood pressure within your body and thus the amount of blood that circulates through your system. Blood is not only carrying oxygen and nutrients, both crucial for your skin, but it also removes toxic waste particles.

Regular exercise ensures that your blood circulates at an optimum level which contributes to healthy skin.  Of course, its not always possible to hit the gym but try to get a little exercise everyday - even if its just a walk around the block at lunchtime or getting off the bus a couple of stops early in the morning.

A few skin care tips when exercising:

  • Ensure you cleanse before exercising to remove all make-up, particularly if you're prone to breakouts. Exercising whist wearing make-up increases the risk of clogged pores.  Pure & Clear's Facial Wipes are ideal to pop in your gym bag
  • Try to avoid synthetic fabrics that trap your body heat, loose clothing made of natural fibres permits the skin to breathe best
  • Shower immediately after finishing your session, to prevent bacteria build up- this is particularly important if you have problem skin on your back or chest
  • Gently pat your face dry- vigorous wiping when drying your face can cause dirt and other tiny particles to impel deeper into your skin pores
