Cycle your way to a beach body this summer

Looking for the perfect beach body this year? It’s no surprise if you are, with current predictions suggesting summer is due to be one of the hottest on record, those bikinis will be making multiple appearances[i]! But according to a recent survey, a staggering 1 in 4 Brits will avoid a holiday in the sun if it means they don’t have to be seen in a swimsuit[ii].

To get us Brits beach body proud this summer, why not take motivation from the inspirational athletes of the Commonwealth Games. After all it’s not just about a new diet, exercise is just as important.   According to Sport England, after the London Olympics, there was a dramatic increase of over 750,000 people playing sport at least once a week in comparison to the previous year. Nearly 25% of these people took up cycling as a new hobby.[iii]

With three different cycling events coming up at the Commonwealth Games, the sport’s popularity is expected to go from strength to strength. So it’s about time we dusted off those saddles and oiled up the wheels, cycling legends such as Joanna Rowsell are going to help us get motivated for a fit summer.
