NELSONS ARNICARE® ANNOUNCES 2014 SPONSORSHIP CAMPAIGN
To continue to drive awareness and increase appeal, Nelsons Arnicare® Arnica Cooling Gel is working with world record holder Martina Hingis and World Junior No.1 Belinda Bencic for 2014. Tennis is a demanding sport and after a couple of hours on the court muscles can be left tired and hot, making it the ideal match for Nelsons Arnicare® Arnica Cooling Gel’s ATL Marketing and PR campaign.
Martina, who still holds the record for becoming the youngest No.1 player in history was at the top spot for over 4 years in the late 1990’s winning 5 Grand Slam Singles titles and 9 Grand Slam Women’s Doubles titles. Since retirement, Martina has not only launched her own tennis clothing line, but she has also started a tennis academy in Barcelona to help young up and coming players, like Belinda.
Belinda is currently World Junior No.1, having won both the Wimbledon and French Open titles in 2013. 2014 marks the start of her first foray into Grand Slam events on the WTA Professional Tour, having already competed in an exhibition match at the Hobart International, Belinda was the youngest player left in the Australian Open until she lost to eventual winner Li Na in the second round.
The right training regimes for both players is extremely important. Martina and Belinda have strict training regimes to ensure they are at the top of their game. Training involves spending over 4 hours on the court and another 1-2 hours in the gym. Tennis players tend to have very specific warm down routines to make sure their muscles recover and to prevent injury.
Martina reveals: “I am very happy with my current levels of fitness, however it’s true that with age I’ve found I do need to work a little harder, especially with my recovery. Post-training I make sure I stretch and either have an ice bath or a massage when my legs are feeling very heavy. As an athlete you’re always looking for the extra 1 percent so that you can demand more from your body when you’re on the court. I’m a big fan of Nelsons Arnicare® Arnica Cooling Gel, I massage it in to help relieve the heavy feeling in my legs after exercise or just after a day of being on my feet for too long.
Belinda says: “After training I like to try and avoid the ice bath! A light jog and plenty of stretching helps me to wind down. Massaging Nelsons Arnicare® Cooling Gel, apply the gel also gives a cooling sensation which is great after a hot training session.”
Nelsons Arnicare® Brand Manager Alessandra Godio says: “We are really excited to have teamed up with the tennis duo in 2014 to endorse Nelsons Arnicare® Arnica Cooling Gel. We hope that working with Martina and Belinda will help to raise the profile and awareness of the product within the target market.”
