WHAT TO PACK FOR HOLIDAY…. NUMBER 1, COMMON SENSE
According to Nelsons Pharmacy an alarming 22% of people don’t purchase holiday health insurance when they go abroad[i]. One in four holiday makers are set to fall ill when abroad[ii], with the most common ailments being upset tummies, over indulgence, mosquito bites and sunburn. All of these can happen easily, especially in countries where the food and climates are different to what we are used to or more importantly not prepared for, therefore, without holiday insurance these could be costly ailments.
Nelsons Pharmacy survey discovered that only 11% of people learn the word ‘Pharmacy’ before they go abroad, however 48% of people surveyed had to visit a pharmacist when on holiday. The key to holiday health is to prepare a travel kit of health essentials, including painkillers, antiseptic, insect repellent and anti-diarrhoea pills. These will be useful wherever you’re going.
